the housebound library service - a free service round inverness and nairnThe Housebound Library Service is a facility provided by the Visiting Service of the North of Scotland and provides a free volunteer based service in the Inverness and Nairn area who are unable to visit a library personally.

An HLS visitor will

  • Regularly visit each of his or her clients
  • Select books and audio books from Public Libraries for the client
  • Deliver books to the client
  • Collect books and return them to the Public Library

HLS visitors are volunteers who have been background checked and who have their own transport to visit the libraries and the clients.
